Associate Professor Dr Eshamsul Sulaiman is a senior lecturer at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, University of Malaya. He graduated with BDS from the Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom in 1997 and obtained his specialist training in Prosthodontics with Distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London in 2004. His early training was in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff, United Kingdom from 1998 to 2001 and obtained his MFD from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2000. He is actively involved in the teaching of postgraduates and undergraduates in the field of fixed prosthodontics and oral implantology. He has lectured, conducted hands-on workshops and performed live implant surgeries and prosthodontic procedures at many platforms in Malaysia. Among his achievements are winning the “Anugerah Rekacipta & Inovasi” at PECIPTA 2011, winning the Best Paper Award at the 22nd IADR-SEA Annual Scientific Meeting in 2009 and receiving the University College London (UCL) Dental School Commemorative Award in 2004 for his outstanding academic and clinical achievement during the course of his postgraduate training at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. He is an active member of MegaGen International Network of Education and Clinical Research (MINEC). Associate Professor Dr Eshamsul is also the external examiner for the Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry Programme at the International Medical University (IMU). He is currently the Head of Oral Implantology Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya.
