The South East Asian Association for Institutional Research (SEAAIR) Conference is an annual conference where institutional research practitioners, scholarly researchers, higher education decision makers and educators from Southeast Asian institutions gather to share their research. The conference is a platform that offers participants the opportunity to interact, develop and exchange new ideas, current research interests, and issues in education and higher education.

 

The SEAAIR Conference has taken place 19 times since 2001. The conference is usually held in the Southeast Asian region on a rotational basis. In Malaysia, the conference was organised by Open University Malaysia in Langkawi in 2006, Universiti Sains Malaysia Penang in 2009 and Universiti Malaysia Sabah Kota Kinabalu Sabah in 2012. The 17th SEAAIR Conference was held in Singapore, 18th in Jakarta Indonesia and the 2019 SEAAIR Conference was held for the first time outside of the Southeast Asian region, in New Taipei City, Taiwan.

 

For the year 2020, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya and SEAAIR will host SEAAIR2020 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The conference will be held from 22 - 24 September 2020 at Putrajaya Marriot Hotel.

 

The theme for SEAAIR2020 is "Diversity in Education". The SEAAIR2020 which covers aspects such as teaching and learning approaches, assessment and evaluation, technology and innovation, educational management and governance, culture and values in education, inclusive education, multidisciplinary curriculum, educational psychology and counselling, and national education agenda.

 

Academicians, educators, researchers, practitioners and graduate students in the field of education are invited to participate and share their research and practices. This conference also serves as a platform for participants to build networking with experts from various backgrounds.
