Get ready for the 31st BSGC 2026!

The Institute of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya warmly invites all graduate students from around the world to join us here in Kuala Lumpur for the 31st Biological Sciences Graduate Congress, held on 16 - 18 December 2026.

The Biological Sciences Graduate Congress (BSGC) is an annual conference hosted by Universiti Malaya (UM), Chulalongkorn University (CU), and the National University of Singapore (NUS). BSGC serves as a medium for exchanging knowledge and sharing exciting findings by graduate students conducting research in biological sciences. This year's conference theme is "Chasing Clarity in Complexity," highlighting our mission to distill meaningful insights from the intricate systems and vast data that define modern biology. It emphasizes the researcher’s journey in finding clear, impactful solutions within the multifaceted challenges of the life sciences.

We are committed to nurturing a younger generation with more global minds that can bring positive change to their communities and respective countries. This conference will feature scientific lectures from outstanding international speakers, alongside an exceptional lineup of oral and poster presentations in an atmosphere of friendly competition for awards. The 31st BSGC will cover the following four themes which will run in parallel sessions:

• Theme 1: Biodiversity, Ecology, and Systematics 
• Theme 2: Applied Science and Biotechnology 
• Theme 3: Biochemistry and Physiology
• Theme 4: Cell and Molecular Biology
