INTRODUCTION
Orthopaedic practice is increasingly dependent on a sound understanding of biomechanics to support accurate diagnosis, effective treatment planning, implant selection, fracture fixation, and rehabilitation strategies. Rapid advancements in orthopaedic technologies, implant designs, and surgical techniques have further emphasized the need for clinicians and researchers to possess a strong foundation in applied biomechanics. Recognising this need, the Crash Course in Applied Biomechanics in Orthopaedics is organised to provide participants with comprehensive exposure to the fundamental and advanced concepts of biomechanics and their practical applications in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal research. The programme is designed to bridge the gap between engineering principles and clinical practice through a combination of lectures, case discussions, and interactive learning sessions. A key highlight of this programme is the participation of 17 distinguished speakers comprising both international and national experts in the fields of orthopaedics, biomechanics, biomedical engineering, and musculoskeletal research. The invited speakers represent leading institutions from Malaysia and abroad, bringing together a diverse range of expertise and perspectives. Their participation will provide attendees with valuable insights into current developments, best practices, emerging technologies, and research advancements in orthopaedic biomechanics. The programme also serves as an important platform for academic exchange and professional networking among orthopaedic surgeons, trainees, researchers, engineers, postgraduate students, and allied healthcare professionals from across Malaysia. By facilitating collaboration between local and international experts, the workshop aims to strengthen research partnerships, encourage innovation, and enhance the quality of orthopaedic education and patient care.
