With the support of the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), U.M Cultural Centre will be presenting the International Symposium on Arts, Culture and Community Engagement 2019. The symposium will be held on 18 & 19 November 2019 at Bilik Anjung Dewan Tunku Canselor (DTC), University of Malaya.

The focus of the symposium is community engagement, sustainability of the arts, and the role that the arts could play in positively impacting the evolving community. This theme couldn't be more timely. By bringing artists, scholars, and activists to the table, we hope to engage in a productive conversation and come-up with different models and possibilities for various community engagement practices. The symposium will promote a trans-disciplinary attitude towards Culture and the Arts by creating panels that will include a diversity of practices.
