ADeC @ UM

The Academic Enhancement and Leadership Development Centre (ADeC)

is UM’s professional development (i.e. training) centre for UM’s academic staff. 

The centre offers three stages of career essentials professional development programs for UM academics, known as

EmeraLd, Inspire/Leader and Institutional Leader. 

In addition, ADeC also plans, implements and oversees UM's e-learning initiatives.

These include conducting e-learning workshops, assisting with the university’s Learning Management System (LMS),

overseeing UM’s Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), and training lecturers for UM’s upcoming Online Distance Learning (ODL) programmes.

ADeC  also runs programs related to Learning Spaces. 

ADeC occasionally hosts learning visits from similar professional development centres in other Malaysian and ASEAN Higher Education Institutions.

ADeC also occasionally conducts training for academic talent in other Malaysian and ASEAN institutions of higher learning.
