INTRODUCTION

The NATIONAL ORTHOPAEDIC ONCOLOGY REVISION COURSE 2026 (NOORC 2026) is a national-level academic revision course focusing on the principles and current practices in orthopaedic oncology, particularly in the diagnosis, management, and reconstruction of musculoskeletal tumours and sarcomas. The course serves as a platform for orthopaedic surgeons, trainees, fellows, and healthcare professionals to strengthen their knowledge and clinical decision-making skills through lectures, case discussions, viva sessions, and expert-led reviews.

NOORC 2026 is scheduled to be held from 3–4 September 2026 at Dewan Jemerlang, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya.

The course continues the longstanding NOORC series previously organized by the Orthopaedic Oncology Unit and collaborating institutions in Malaysia. Past editions have included topics such as:

  • Principles of tumour diagnosis and staging
  • Limb salvage surgery
  • Reconstruction techniques
  • Management of benign and malignant bone tumours
  • Soft tissue sarcoma management
  • Viva and examination-oriented revision sessions
  • Multidisciplinary oncology approaches

The programme is closely associated with experts in orthopaedic oncology including Prof. Dr. Vivek Ajit Singh and other national orthopaedic oncology educators who have contributed to previous NOORC scientific sessions and training activities.

NOORC 2026 is expected to:

  • Enhance postgraduate orthopaedic oncology education
  • Prepare candidates for professional examinations and subspecialty training
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration in musculoskeletal oncology
  • Update participants on contemporary surgical and oncological management strategies

The course also reflects the growing role of Malaysia’s orthopaedic oncology community in regional education, research, and subspecialty development.
