Dr. Nur Aida binti Kipli was born in Kuching, Sarawak. At the moment, she is the Senior Principal Assistant Director at the Education Malaysia Division, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education since July 2018. Before this appointment, Dr. Aida was a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan SARAWAK from 2004 to 2018. She received her Doctorate in Philosophy (Political Science) from UM in 2018 under the Faculty of Economics and Administration. At Education Malaysia Division, Dr. Aida heads the section for Internationalisation Operations Planning that deals with the Education Offices Abroad, policies and strategic planning for the international offices.

 

Professor Dr Nor Aishah Buang

  • Dr Nur Ain Shahrier
  • Senior Lecturer, Sunway University Business School, Sunway University, Malaysia

Dr. Nur Ain Shahrier is an assistant Professor at Sunway University Malaysia. She was previously an economist at Central Bank of Malaysia and Asian Development Bank in Philippines. In addition, she was also selected as visiting research fellow to Harvard University. She holds a PhD and Master of Science in Regional Science and Master of Engineering in Financial Engineering from Cornell University, USA and Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Actuarial Science, Economics and Mathematics from University of Iowa. In addition, she is a qualified associate of Financial Planning Association Malaysia (FPAM) and Islamic Financial Planning Association Malaysia (IFPAM). She has published a number of articles in reputable journals and working papers for Central Bank of Malaysia.

Rajah Rasiah is Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Asia Europe Institute, University of Malaya. He obtained his doctorate in Economics from Cambridge University in 1992, and was a Rajawali fellow at Harvard University in 2014. He has served as an academic in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1992-2001), UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University (2001-2004), and at University of Malaysia (2004-2019). He was the first holder of the Khazanah Nasional Chair of Regulatory Studies, and served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya in 2009-2010 and 2013-2014. He was a member of the GLOBELICS scientific board over the period 2012-2017, Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT since 2004, Professorial Fellow at the Technology Management and Development Centre at Oxford University, Professorial Fellow at the Centre for Rising Powers, Cambridge University, advisory board member of the Industrial Development Research Centre, Zhejiang University over the period 2010-2015,  Member of the Advisory Board of University of Cambodia over the period 2005-2015, Visiting Professor at Lahore School of Economics (2019), Visiting Professor at UNIMAS (since 2018).

His policy-oriented work includes research in several countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Among the major contributions he has made for the benefit of society include the conceptualization of technology, and its link to development, and methodologies designed to capture clustering, technological capabilities and industrial policies. In recognition of his competence the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, World Bank, International Labour Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, United Nations Development Programme, the Asian Development Bank and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia have commissioned the writing of several reports for guiding industrial policy in the developing economies. He was also one of the principal authors of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) 2009 flagship report, and one of the editors of the 2015 UNESCO Science Report. His research and policy work has produced over 300 publications (including 28 books) in international journals and prestigious presses.

While the prime focus of his research is on technology and international development, he has also worked extensively on foreign investment, human capital, public health and environment. He is the 2014 recipient of the Celso Furtado prize from the World Academy of Sciences for advancing the frontiers of social science (economics) thought. In light of his outstanding impactful contributions to scholarship, Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education conferred him the award of Distinguished Professor in the field of Economics in 2017. He was conferred the Merdeka (Independence) Award for academic excellence in 2018.

 

  • Dr Teresa P. Fabiania
  • President, Council of Economics Educators, The Republic of the Philippines

Dr Teresa P. Fabiania is currently the Dean of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Communication of Holy Cross of Davao College, Davao City, Philippines. She is the National President of the Council of Economics Educators (CECON) since 2016 until 2020. She obtained her doctorate in Rural Development from Iloilo State College of Fisheries in 2013 and presently preparing her dissertation study in Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management at Holy Cross of Davao College. Her research interests are in the field of Economics, Environment, Community Development, Educational Management and International Trade.

 

  • Dr Lilis Heri Mis Cicih
  • Senior Researcher, Universitas Indonesia, Republic of Indonesia

She is a senior researcher at Demographic Institute Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia (UI) since 1991. She conducted many researchs in various field, for examples economic, health economic, health, ageing, demography, community empowerment, gender, informal sector, family planning, policy analysis, community development, consumer statisfaction, socioeconomic stratification, social welfare, small enterprise, human development, child protection, food safety, healthy life expectation, poverty, safety net, trade sector, law and policies, consumption, industry, scholarly communication, and evaluation programs.

On 2017-2018, she conducted the project with titled: “Disease Emergence and Economic Evaluation of Altered Landscape”, supported by USAID, University of Minnesota, and eco-health Alliance USA. She is a Co-Principle Investigator, and as an economist to had responsible to arrange the economic modelling or economic evaluation for diseases emergence.

She is also a lecturer in Population and Man Power, Post Graduated Studies, UI; magister economic, population and man power FEB UI; magister of public health in Public Health Faculty UI; Magister on Family Welfare in IPB Agriculture University; and magister of public health in UMHT.

In the community organization, she is a head of insitituton development division in Lembaga Lanjut Usia Indonesia. Also, she is a staf member in Ikatan Peminat Ahli Demografi Indonesia. In addition, she is also as a resources person in Ministry of Social Affairs, Bappenas, BKKBN, Ministry of Healht, and Ministry of Women Empowerment, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia, BPS-Statistics Indonesia, BPPT.

She has experiences as an expert in various projects with funding agencies, are UNDP, Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Japan, JICA, UNFPA, WHO, Toyota Foundation, and USAID. On 2003, she has experience to attend Visiting Research Fellow in Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS)-Singapore, especially for translating the book. She is a member of international istitution such as ISBIS, APA, REVES.

She  awarded as the 1st winner poster session in ACAP Conference. Her publications: book (international/national), newsletter, bulletin, proceeding, journal, policy brieft, and law manuscripts.
