Transportation Guide for Participants arriving from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) / Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (Klia2) to ICFPAM’s venue (Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort) 

 

Option 1 : By taking flights to Penang Airport
Passengers can book flights from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Penang, Malaysia. The flights serving Penang from Kuala Lumpur are Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Firefly and Malindo Air. Please refer to the airlines’ websites for the ticket inquiries. Alternatively, Qatar Airways also provide direct flights to Penang from selected places.

Upon arriving at Penang International Airport, passengers can hire cab/taxi/GrabCar to go to Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort. 
Cab/Taxi/GrabCar
•    Price : RM 30 – RM 90 (Beware of taxi tout) (airport taxis are a little bit pricey)
•    Duration :  approximately 30 minutes – 1 hour, depending on the traffic
•    Distance : 24 – 30 km, depending on the route 

 

Option 2 : By taking Train
Passengers arriving at both KLIA and klia2 can proceed to the Express Rail Link (ERL) stations available on each of the terminals. Passengers may take an express train to Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral - central transportation hub for Kuala Lumpur City), then proceed to take the Intercity Electric Train Service (ETS) operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) towards Butterworth, Penang (the station is located in Penang Sentral). After that, passengers can hire a cab/taxi/GrabCar to the Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort.
 

ERL (KLIA/KLIA2 to KL sentral)
•    Price : RM 55/one way (KLIA/klia2 – KL Sentral) 
(Note that this is the KLIA express train, not to be confused with KLIA transit train served by the same station)
•    Frequency : 15 – 20 minutes
•    Duration : 28 - 32 minutes

ETS (KL Sentral to Butterworth)
•    Price : RM 79/one way (KL sentral – Butterworth, Penang) 
•    Frequency : Limited. 4 – 6 trains a day. Pre-booking is advised.
•    Duration : 4 hours – 4 hours 30 minutes

Cab/Taxi/GrabCar (Penang Sentral to Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort)
•    Price : May vary, ranging from RM 40 – RM 70 (Beware of taxi tout)
•    Duration : approximately 30 minutes – 1 hour, depending on the traffic
•    Distance : 32 km 

 

Option 3 : By taking Express Bus
Passengers arriving at both KLIA and klia2 can proceed to the Express Rail Link (ERL) stations available on each of the terminals. Passengers may take a transit train to Bandar Tasik Selatan (This terminal connected to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan transportation hub serving mainly express buses linking KL with entire West Malaysia). From there, passengers shall book an express bus departing to Butterworth, Penang. (Passengers will arrive at Penang Sentral). The buses are served by multiple bus operators. Once arriving at Penang Sentral, passengers then can hire a cab/taxi/GrabCar to the Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort.

ERL (KLIA/KLIA2 to Bandar Tasik Selatan)
•    Price : RM 38.40/one way  (KLIA/klia2 – Bandar Tasik Selatan)

•    Frequency : 20 – 30 minutes
•    Duration : 25 – 30 minutes
