National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACES) 2023
To be held from the 16th to 17th December 2023
Organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya together with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Malaysia

BACKGROUND

NACES is a competitive platform by which chemical engineering students are given the opportunity to expand their creativity and innovation in the chemical engineering field. It aims to encourage critical thinking, a sharing of knowledge, innovative ideas and team working spirit through competitive interactions. Since its inception, NACES has been hosted by various universities in Malaysia offering chemical engineering programme together with IChemE Malaysia.
It is a competition held yearly where universities in Malaysia compete in various categories related to the chemical engineering discipline. In 2022, NACES was hosted by UiTM Shah Alam and Universiti Malaya was crowned the overall champions. In lieu of winning the championship, Universiti Malaya is to host NACES for the year 2023.

OBJECTIVE

NACES aims to provide a platform that encourages creativity and the flourishing of innovative ideas through competition. It aims to bring together undergraduate chemical engineering students throughout Malaysia to inspire, share and demonstrate their knowledge and ideas via critical thinking, team working spirit and communication skills.

PARTICIPANTS

174 undergraduate chemical engineering students from both public and private universities in Malaysia are expected to participate in this symposium with 84 participating physically and 90 participating online.
