IEC 2026 maintains a strict no-show policy to ensure the quality and integrity of the conference.
Each accepted paper or poster must be presented by one of the listed authors, either in person or virtually, during the scheduled conference session. Presenters are also expected to be present during the Q&A segment and be prepared to respond to questions related to their work.
🔁 Substitute Presenter Requests
In exceptional cases, the General Chairs may allow a substitute presenter.
A formal request must be submitted in advance to the IEC 2026 Secretariat (educonference@um.edu.my), and must include a valid reason and the details of the substitute.
❌ No-Show Consequences
Papers without a valid presentation (i.e., no-show) may be excluded from post-conference publication opportunities, including proceedings or affiliated journal submissions.
📩 Appeals
Authors who fail to present and wish to appeal the no-show status must submit a written appeal to educonference@um.edu.my within 30 days of the conference start date. Appeals must include:
The paper title and reference
The reason for absence
Evidence that the absence was due to circumstances beyond the author’s control
Appeals will be reviewed by the Organising Committee, and decisions will be final.
🔄 Authorship Changes
Please note that no changes to authorship (adding or removing authors) are permitted after acceptance. All listed authors at the time of submission will be final for conference and publication purposes.
