Diana Laurillard is Emeritus Professor of Learning with Digital Technologies at UCL Knowledge Lab, having previously served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for learning technologies at The Open University and Head of the e-Learning Strategy Unit for the UK Government. Internationally recognized as a pioneer in digital pedagogy, she has advised global institutions including UNESCO, Harvard University, and the Association for Learning Technology on the strategic integration of educational technology.
A world-renowned author and creator of the groundbreaking Conversational Framework and The Learning Designer, Laurillard’s current work focuses on scaling teacher-led innovation through collaborative co-design and open-access digital tools. Her research demonstrates that the true potential of educational technology lies not in mere content delivery, but in transforming teaching into a collaborative design science that empowers educators to engineer active, highly engaged learning environments.
