The Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya and the Universiti Malaya Library are organizing the 9th International Conference on Libraries, Information Society 2023 (ICoLIS 2023), which will held on 20th and 21st  September 2023 at Putrajaya.

The conference aims to bring together Library & Information Science (LIS) professionals to share new ideas, and application experiences face to face, establish business or research relations, and find global partners for future collaboration. In tangent with the roles of libraries as valuable centers for the open science movement, the objectives are:

• To provide opportunities for sharing and discussion of the current status, trends, research, directions, issues, and challenges on the role of libraries in the push for open science
• To explore innovative ways and scenarios in developing new models in the push for libraries to be at the forefront of open science
• To examine issues related to consolidating technology, information resources, knowledge, and skills into strategic competencies in order to strengthen the role of libraries and information in servicing the open science community and stakeholders
• To foster cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders, challenge, debate, learn and optimize the contribution of scholarly research, innovative programs, and strategies in libraries
