16th Southeast Asia Astronomy Network (SEAAN) Meeting 2026

The 16th Southeast Asia Astronomy Network (SEAAN) Meeting will be held from 16–19 November 2026 at Planetarium Negara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, hosted by Universiti Malaya in collaboration with Planetarium Negara and the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).

The meeting serves as the premier regional platform for astronomers, researchers, educators, students, and institutions to exchange scientific knowledge, foster collaborations, and advance astronomical research and education throughout Southeast Asia.

Building upon the success of previous SEAAN meetings, the 2026 conference aims to strengthen regional partnerships while exploring the opportunities created by emerging astronomical facilities, technological innovation, and international cooperation.

About SEAAN

The Southeast Asia Astronomy Network (SEAAN) was established in 2007 by the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) to strengthen cooperation among the astronomy communities of Southeast Asia.

Since its inception, SEAAN has provided a collaborative platform for researchers, educators, observatories, universities, and government agencies to promote scientific excellence, develop human capital, and enhance public engagement in astronomy.

The annual SEAAN Meeting rotates among member countries, allowing each host nation to showcase its scientific achievements, research facilities, educational initiatives, and contributions to regional astronomy.

Today, SEAAN continues to play an important role in building an integrated and internationally connected astronomy community across Southeast Asia.

Conference Theme
