The special section "Future-Enabled Edge AI for Metaverse: Challenges and Opportunities" (FEEAIM 2024) aims to present cutting-edge research and developments across a wide array of topics within the field of Metaverse. As Metaverse applications such as Augmented, Virtual and Mixed reality continues to grow exponentially, advanced methodologies and techniques have become critical for offloading the data from various kinds of AR, VR and MR application devices to the edge and processing it in a timely manner. This section will delve into novel algorithms, methodologies, and frameworks that push the boundaries of what is currently possible in Metaverse. It will also explore the integration of AI and machine learning approaches, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of different offloading and scheduling mechanisms in the edge, and tackling the unique challenges posed by Metaverse applications.
Moreover, the special section will highlight practical applications of Metaverse in various domains. It will also cover different modeling techniques crucial for predicting and modeling the behavior of different kinds of AR, VR and MR applications to fulfill their QoS requirements. The section will also emphasize the importance of developing novel scheduling algorithms in the edge cloud to handle and process different kinds of AR, VR and MR applications according to their response time requirements. It will further focus on exploring different AI and machine learning algorithms to facilitate the processing of Metaverse applications in the edge.
Lastly, the special section will address the critical issues of privacy and security related to Metaverse applications, ensuring that the methodologies and processes being adopted comply with data protection standards. It will also include discussions on evaluation and benchmarking, providing standards and metrics for assessing the performance and effectiveness of developed algorithms and systems. By bringing together these diverse yet interconnected topics, the special section aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state and future directions of Metaverse, serving as a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike.
This special section will cover a broad range of topics related to Data Mining, including but not limited to:
