Wi-Fi and Malaysia Telco services

In Malaysia, free Wi-Fi are available in all airports and KL Sentral (transportation hub). Foreign visitors have the option to use data roaming services or purchase a Malaysia Telco data plan from providers such as Maxis, Celcom, Digi, Hotlink and U-mobile. Purchase of sim card or e-sim are available in the Telco stores at the airport. The physical sim-cards, or prepaid sim pack are also sold in some convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, 99-speedmarts, KK-mart and myNews.

 

Public transportation

Public transport in Malaysia generally operates from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. everyday. Public transportation in Malaysia, including MRT, LRT, BRT, monorail and KLIA transit, offers ticket purchases either at counters, kiosk or using Touch 'n Go (TnG) card. The public buses operated by RapidKL only accept TnG card.

TnG cards are sold in Touch n Go hubs including at KL Sentral (map), Touch n Go kiosk counter, Watson’s store, 7-Eleven and selected LRT stations, subject to stock availability.

  • A minimum balance of RM3 is required when taking public bus, RM5 for subway, and RM20 for KLIA transit.
  • Each ride in Rapid KL bus cost RM1 for Touch n Go card user.
  • User has to tap in when entering Rapid KL public bus and tap out before exiting the bus, which it will hold RM3 during tap in and return RM2 into the card during tap out.
  • Touch n Go card reloads is available in all MRT stations, 7-Eleven, Watson’s store, and KK SuperMart.

 

Rapid KL MyCity Pass is available at Rapid KL Customer Service Office in LRT, MRT, Monorail, and BRT stations. The unlimited rides pass for 1 day, 2 days, or 3 days on Rapid KL LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL buses, and MRT feeder buses in the Klang Valley are available. Grab

Grab is the most convenient transportation method, the cost is reflected during booking, generally inexpensive. Download Grab app to use it in your smartphones. https://www.grab.com/my/download/

Grab for ride hailing service is available throughout Malaysia. Payment by credit card in app.

 

Electrical

Malaysia using Type G electrical socket plug, similar to UK plug type. The wall plug power supply is operating with AC 240 V at 50 Hz.
