Overview & Purpose

Since 2016, Universiti Malaya through its Community Engagement Centre (UMCares) (formerly Pusat Jalinan Masyarakat) has hosted community engagement conferences to share grassroots knowledge, field experiences, and best practices.

Now entering its 7th Edition, InACE 2026 convenes academia, government policymakers, industries, and grassroots communities to advance sustainable, research-driven solutions aligned with the Malaysia MADANI vision.


Decade Journey (2016 – 2026)

Year Milestone Key Development
2016 Inception (UMCares) Universiti Malaya launched dedicated conferences for grassroots community engagement and knowledge sharing.
2019 UMACE Rebranding Expanded nationwide as the Universiti Malaya Academia–Community Engagement Conference, reinforcing UM's leadership in research-led engagement.
2021 1st National Webinar Held as UMCares' first nationwide virtual conference to ensure uninterrupted multi-sector collaboration.
2023 International Elevation (InACE) Transformed into a biennial international conference in strategic partnership with ICU JPM and JPT MOHE.
2026 7th Edition Flagship Aims to strengthen the National Social Innovation Ecosystem and translate academic research into enduring societal impact under Malaysia MADANI.
